Grupo 1: sala grande a la entrada de Hangar

Un hidròfon és un transductor de so a electricitat per ser utilitzat a l'aigua o en algun altre medi líquid, de forma anàloga a l'ús del micròfon a l'aire.

En Patrick McGinley ens va comentar que s'havia construït un hidròfon seguint les instruccions que trobem en aquest enllaç:

The second day of the workshop was devoted to field-recordings. We worked by groups and spend some time recording in several places of the city but without making any intervention from our part. We will upload some of these recordings in the following days.

On the other hand, during the last day we did several exercicies to get some interesting sounds from different objects.

Finally, we carried out the activation of the environment. We looked for interesting places around hangar and prepared some performances to activate them. We used mallets and bows as well as several objects or materials that we found in the surroundings.

La primera sesión de ayer estuvo dedicada a la práctica de la escucha.

Aquí tenemos un ejemplo del resultado de la primera actividad: el ejercicio de ir a escuchar de forma consciente el entorno sonoro de la calle (justo delante de la entrada a los edificios donde queda Hangar) y después reconstruirlo en el interior del edificio.
Primero se hizo una escucha general de este entorno y después cada uno debió concentrarse en un sonido concreto e intentar memorizarlo. Finalmente, se hizo la reconstrucción del entorno sonoro recordándolo y reproduciéndolo de forma vocal, todos juntos.
El resultado de la reconstrucción del paisaje sonoro es obviamente diferente del original, a parte de la particularidad de la fuente sonora, podemos decir que es el fruto de la suma de las percepciones individuales y de la memoria sonora de cada uno.
